As the war in Ukraine continues, one of the most terrifying threats facing civilians is the possibility of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) being launched towards their cities. The United Nations' Responsibility to Protect (R2P) principle says that the international community has a responsibility to help when a country cannot protect its own people from violence. The people of Ukraine need this kind of international help now more than ever.

As Ukraine fights to defend itself against ICBMs, it is also fighting for its people’s basic human rights—the right to life and security. The world must stand with Ukraine to ensure that no one, anywhere, has to live in constant fear of destruction from powerful weapons like ICBMs.
