Prayagraj, January 16 – The fourth day of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 witnessed an extraordinary turnout of devotees braving the biting cold and drizzle to take a sacred dip at the Sangam, the confluence of the holy rivers Yamuna, Ganga, and the mystical Saraswati. As the sun barely broke through the winter haze, the faith of millions shone brighter, with devotees assembling at the banks as early as 5 a.m.

The Maha Kumbh, a 45-day religious festival steeped in ancient traditions, has already drawn over six crore devotees within its first four days. Organizers anticipate that by the festival's conclusion, this number will surpass a staggering 50 crore, making it a monumental event in human history.

Aerial surveillance has been bolstered with 11 tethered drones and advanced anti-drone systems to monitor the sprawling Mela grounds. Waterways are under constant vigilance to ensure the safety of devotees and tourists participating in boat rides and river activities.

Prashant Kumar, Director General of Police, highlighted the unprecedented measures taken:

“This year's Kumbh is not just about scale but also about ensuring a safe and seamless experience for everyone. With over 50 crore attendees expected, this is a massive undertaking, and we are leaving no stone unturned.”
