Rajasthan Weather Update: Temperatures Exceed 30°C; Rainfall Warning Issued for Eight Districts
Following a brief period of respite, Rajasthan is witnessing a notable change in weather conditions. On Monday, temperatures across the state increased, providing welcomed relief from the cold. Nevertheless, the meteorological department has announced a new rainfall warning for several districts starting Wednesday, with a subsequent drop in temperatures anticipated.
Meteorological Department Notification: Rainfall Expected from Wednesday
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a shift in weather commencing Wednesday, January 22. An alert has been issued for impending rainfall in eight districts: Jaipur, Alwar, Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Dausa, and Hanumangarh. A light western disturbance is anticipated to trigger moisture in these areas, contributing to rainfall. Concurrently, a decrease in temperature is expected, offering relief from the current warmth.
Dungarpur Records the Warmest Day of the Season
Monday registered as the warmest day and night of the season in Rajasthan. Dungarpur recorded the highest temperature in the state at 30.3°C, with a minimum temperature of 14.3°C. Other districts also experienced noticeable increases in temperature, with Jaipur, Jodhpur, Anta-Baran, Jalore, Fatehpur, Karauli, and Pratapgarh reporting maximums above 25°C. Meteorologists forecast that this warmth will persist for a few additional days, followed by a decrease from Wednesday onward.
Maximum Temperatures Across Various Districts
On Sunday and Monday, several areas in Rajasthan reported significant temperature surges. Dungarpur, peaking at 30.3°C, noted the state's highest temperature. Additional districts recorded warmer conditions as follows: Dausa – 29.2°C, Jalore – 29.3°C, Barmer – 29.4°C, Udaipur – 29.1°C, Chittorgarh – 29.8°C, and Bhilwara – 29°C. In Ganganagar and Hanumangarh, slight temperature rises were recorded, though residents found some relief with sunny conditions, as Ganganagar reached a maximum of 21.6°C and Hanumangarh hit 22.1°C.
Updates from Jaipur and the Capital Region
The capital city, Jaipur, also experienced a rise in temperatures on Monday, recording a maximum of 26.8°C and a minimum of 14°C. This increase provided some relief following the previous cold spell. However, the meteorological department anticipates a slight temperature decline over the coming two days, amidst increasing foggy conditions.
