On Wednesday at around 4:30 PM, the Jaipur Police Control Room received a call threatening to kill the Deputy Chief Minister. Given the gravity of the situation, authorities quickly traced the call’s origin and found that it had been made from inside Jaipur Central Jail. This discovery raised serious concerns about how inmates could access mobile phones within the high-security prison.

Swift Police Action and Jail Raid

Acting promptly, a police team was dispatched to Jaipur Central Jail. A thorough search operation was conducted overnight, stretching into the early hours of Thursday. During the raid, three inmates were detained, and the mobile phone used to issue the threat was recovered.

Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph confirmed the operation, stating, “The threat call was made from inside Jaipur Central Jail. A police team was sent immediately, and on Thursday, three individuals were taken into custody.”

Identification of the Inmates Involved

The primary accused has been identified as Mukesh Israni, also known as ‘Mukka,’ who is currently serving time under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Investigations revealed that Mukesh borrowed a mobile phone from another inmate, Chetan, to make the threat call. The SIM card used in the device was registered in the name of Rakesh Jain, a third inmate who was imprisoned on charges of fraud.
