Cyber Scam in Jaipur: Task-Based Fraud Worth ₹5.50 Lakh

Jaipur has witnessed another case of cyber fraud where criminals duped a victim of ₹5.50 lakh using social media.

The incident has been reported to the Muhana police station, and an investigation is currently in progress.

Modus Operandi of the Scam

The scammers disseminated a link through social media, enticing the victim with tasks that promised profits upon completion. To establish credibility, they initially transferred a nominal amount into the victim's bank account. Once a level of trust was achieved, the criminals persuaded the victim to transfer larger sums, totaling ₹5.50 lakh.
