In a major operation, Ranchi Police have successfully arrested Himanshu Yadav alias Lalu Yadav and Sushant Yadav alias Vicky Yadav, two notorious criminals from Chudi Center Gali, Ratu Road. The duo was deeply involved in smuggling brown sugar sourced from a supplier known as Bhabhiji of Sasaram, Bihar. This supplier has been recognized as a key player in the drug trade in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Ranchi.

How the Operation Unfolded

Based on a confidential tip-off, police launched a well-planned operation and apprehended Himanshu and Sushant at Lah Kothi Guava Garden Ground under Sukhdev Nagar Police Station limits. Investigations revealed that the two suspects regularly visited Sasaram in Bihar to purchase brown sugar from Bhabhiji before smuggling it into Ranchi’s illegal drug market.

The Search for Ambar Kumar

Authorities are now intensifying efforts to locate Ambar Kumar, another critical member of this smuggling network. Ambar, son of Babla Ram from Kokar Bazartand, Ranchi, is suspected of managing distribution channels in the city. Police sources indicate that Ambar’s family has a notorious criminal history, with both his parents previously imprisoned on narcotics-related charges.

During the arrests, Ranchi Police confiscated:

20 packets of brown sugar

A country-made pistol

A smartphone

₹1,300 cash
