IIT JAM 2025 Exam Scheduled for February 2: Important Guidelines and Key Details

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi will conduct the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2025 on February 2, 2025. This national-level entrance exam is designed for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs in various science disciplines. The test will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format across multiple centers in India.
Subjects Covered in IIT JAM 2025
The examination will be held for seven test papers, namely:
Biotechnology (BT)
Chemistry (CY)
Economics (EN)
Geology (GG)
Mathematics (MA)
Mathematical Statistics (MS)
Physics (PH)
The question paper will comprise three types of objective questions:
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)
Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions
IIT JAM 2025 Exam Day Guidelines for Candidates
Candidates appearing for IIT JAM 2025 must adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth examination process:
Mandatory Documents for Entry
Candidates must carry their Admit Card and a valid original Photo Identity Proof to the examination hall.
Biometric Verification at the Exam Center
Fingerprint and/or photograph verification will be conducted before the exam. Candidates should ensure their fingertips are clean and free from any coatings like ink, mehendi, henna, or tattoos.
Strict Prohibition of Electronic Devices
Candidates are not permitted to carry mobile phones (even if switched off), smartwatches, calculators, or any other electronic gadgets inside the exam hall.
Any printed, scanned, or handwritten material is strictly prohibited within the premises.
Strict Adherence to Examination Conduct
Candidates must not tamper with the computer or any hardware provided in the examination hall. Any attempt to manipulate exam equipment will lead to immediate disqualification.
Consequences of Unfair Means
The use of unfair means at any stage of the examination process will result in immediate cancellation of candidature and permanent disqualification from appearing in future JAM exams. Legal action may also be taken in such cases.
Change in Exam Center for Prayagraj Candidates
Due to the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela, the IIT JAM 2025 exam center originally assigned in Prayagraj has been shifted to Lucknow. Candidates scheduled to appear in Prayagraj must report to the designated Lucknow center on the same date and time.
