In a strong condemnation of the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu took to task the regime for its failure to address the worsening condition of the city’s roads. Describing the roads as "pothole-ridden" and a threat to public safety, the MLA expressed frustration with the lack of action to repair and maintain the infrastructure.
Srinivasulu Calls for Immediate Action
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Mr. Srinivasulu accused the former government of neglecting the city's road network, which has become increasingly hazardous to commuters. "The roads in Tirupati are in a deplorable state, and it's high time the authorities took responsibility for this mess. We cannot let the people suffer due to this inaction," he said.
The MLA’s criticism comes as local residents continue to grapple with the challenges posed by poorly maintained roads, which have become notorious for causing accidents and traffic congestion.
Launch of New Buses Amidst Criticism
Despite the criticism, Mr. Srinivasulu remained focused on progress for the city. He flagged off three new buses at the APSRTC central bus station in Tirupati, aiming to improve public transport facilities for the residents. The event was attended by Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) former chairman G. Narasimha Yadav and Jana Sena Party (JSP) district convener P. Hariprasad, who also expressed concern over the road conditions.
A Call for Change and Accountability
Mr. Srinivasulu emphasized that his focus would now shift toward ensuring the timely repair and proper maintenance of roads, while holding the previous administration accountable for its negligence. He has promised to push for immediate measures to address the growing concerns regarding road safety and infrastructure development in Tirupati.
