New Delhi: As the Delhi Assembly elections approach on February 5, 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled a series of ambitious promises aimed at securing youth and marginalized voters. Releasing the second part of its Sankalp Patra (election manifesto), the BJP outlined transformative policies focusing on free education, financial aid, and welfare schemes.
Free Education from KG to PG: A Bold Promise for Youth Empowerment
A central highlight of BJP’s manifesto is the promise of free education for all students, spanning from kindergarten to postgraduate studies. This initiative is designed to remove financial obstacles for students, ensuring access to high-quality education throughout Delhi. This move is anticipated to strongly resonate with both young voters and their parents, representing a substantial advancement toward educational inclusivity.
Monthly Financial Aid for Students and UPSC Aspirants
In a bid to support underprivileged students, the BJP has pledged a monthly stipend of ₹1,000 for students from economically weaker sections. To help candidates prepare for the UPSC and other competitive tests, a one-time financial support scheme will also be implemented, relieving worthy applicants of the financial burden of preparation expenses.
Welfare Schemes for Marginalized Communities
BJP's Sankalp Patra also emphasizes the upliftment of marginalized sections. Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted key welfare initiatives, including:
- Stipend for Technical Education: ₹1,000 monthly stipend for SC students enrolled in technical education courses such as ITI and polytechnics.
- Domestic Workers Welfare Board: Establishment of a welfare board offering life insurance worth ₹10 lakh, accident insurance of ₹5 lakh, scholarships for children of domestic workers, and six months of paid maternity leave.
BJP Criticizes AAP’s Governance and Calls for Change
During the manifesto release, Anurag Thakur criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of mismanagement and extortion practices. He urged people to select a government dedicated to inclusive development and transparent policies by contrasting the AAP's governance with the BJP's stated policies.
Election Timeline: Pivotal Days Ahead for Delhi
Delhi voters will head to the polls on February 5, 2025, with results slated for February 8, 2025. The BJP’s focus on education, youth welfare, and marginalized communities positions it as a strong contender in a fiercely contested election.
A Vision for Delhi’s Future
The BJP's manifesto reflects its vision for a progressive and inclusive Delhi, aiming to address the needs of various communities while empowering the youth. As election day nears, the promises laid out in the Sankalp Patra will play a crucial role in shaping voter sentiment and determining the capital’s political future.
