In a case that has shaken the North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, a doctor was apprehended after allegedly sedating and repeatedly assaulting a female patient at his clinic. Authorities reported that the accused, Dr. Noor Alam Sardar, further blackmailed the woman with compromising photos, demanding a sum of Rs 4 lakh under the threat of online exposure.

The Incident:

The victim, who was alone at her Hasnabad residence while her husband worked abroad, visited Dr. Sardar’s clinic for a routine consultation. According to her complaint, the doctor insisted on administering a sedative injection, convincing her it was necessary for faster recovery. However, once the sedative took effect, the woman claimed she lost consciousness, only to awaken later in a disoriented state, realizing her clothes were disturbed.

The alleged assault left the victim deeply traumatized. She shared her distressing experience with her husband upon his return, prompting the couple to report the incident to local authorities.

Blackmail and Threats:

In addition to the physical assault, the victim faced an ongoing nightmare of blackmail. Police reports indicate that Dr. Sardar had taken compromising photos during her unconscious state and used them to coerce her into silence, demanding Rs 4 lakh with threats to release the images on social media.

Police Intervention and Investigation:

Following the formal complaint, the Basirhat Superintendent of Police, Hossain Mehedi Rehman, promptly launched an investigation. "Swift action was taken based on the woman's account, leading to the doctor’s immediate arrest. We are committed to a thorough investigation and holding all parties accountable," said SP Rehman.
